Join us for an engaging three-hour virtual ethics training hosted on Zoom. This session will introduce key concepts for understanding the nature of professional ethics, providing a foundational framework for attendees. We will then feature a panel of practitioners from diverse professional backgrounds who will discuss how ethical obligations intersect with the issue of problem gambling, with a particular focus on vulnerable populations, especially those in the Latinx communities. Finally, participants will have the opportunity to break out into smaller groups to discuss and apply these ideas and insights to their own professional contexts. This interactive segment will allow for deeper exploration and practical application of the concepts covered.

Abraham Singer
Abraham Singer is Associate Professor of Management and Business Ethics at the Quinlan School of Business, Loyola University Chicago. He holds a PhD in political theory from the University of Toronto, and an MA in political science from the University of Illinois-Chicago. He has published numerous articles in top business ethics, political science, law, and philosophy journals. He is also the author of The Form of the Firm (Oxford University Press, 2019), The Sanity of Satire (Rowman & Littlefield, 2020) and Everyone’s Business, a forthcoming book on business ethics and democracy, with the University of Chicago Press.

Lindsey LaPointe
State Representative LaPointe, 19th House District & Chair, Mental Health & Addiction Committee
Lindsey is currently serving her second term as State Representative of the 19th District on Chicago’s Northwest Side. She currently serves as Chair of the Mental Health and Addiction Committee and Vice-Chair of the Human Services Committee, and sits on the Housing Committee, the Health & Human Services Committee, and the Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
Lindsey’s priorities include making health care, including mental health care, more affordable and accessible; supporting teachers and first responders who strengthen the communities in her district, and ensuring Illinois’ tax system is fair to everyone—not just the very wealthy. Lindsey has been a long-time advocate for protecting critical human services, violence prevention programs, and reforming our criminal justice system to align with evidence-based and humane practices that have proven to make communities safer at a much lower cost to taxpayers.
Lindsey holds a Masters in Social Work from the Jane Addams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a BA in Sociology from Grinnell College. She has always been committed to serving the community. While in graduate school, she interned with the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation, working on policies to support survivors of sexual harm and prevent the root causes of sexual violence.
Lindsey has years of experience in the public and private sectors working on behalf of the people of Illinois. She currently sits on the Dean’s Advisory Council for Diversity, Equity and Social Inclusion at the Jane Addams College of Social Work and is the former Vice President of the Board of Directors of Hands to Help Ministries.

Tammi Barlow

Tammi Barlow has over a decade of experience building and managing responsible gaming, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability programs for companies in the gaming industry. She is a highly experienced executive with a demonstrated history of building successful programs from the ground up that comply with regulatory requirements and enhance local communities around the world.
In her current role as Global Vice President of Responsible Gaming, Tammi is responsible for driving the execution of Bally’s global responsible gaming, ESG and community impact strategies, and implementing programs and initiatives that reinforce a culture of responsibility with employees at all levels that align with the Bally’s brand.
Tammi Barlow is currently Co-Chairwoman of the Responsible Gaming Committee for the National Council on Problem Gambling, Board member for the Massachusetts Council on Gaming and Health, Executive member of African Americans in Gaming, and a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee for Global Gaming Women.
