Engaging Latinx Communities in Problem Gambling Recovery

Includes a Live Web Event on 10/15/2025 at 11:00 AM (CDT)

Join us on October 15th from 11:00am-12:30pm CT with Dr. Alexia de Leon!

This 90 minute training will be a dynamic and insightful session focused on culturally responsive care for Latinx communities impacted by problem gambling. This presentation will explore the unique cultural factors that shape the experiences of Latinx individuals and families, as well as the barriers they may face in seeking help.

Through meaningful discussion and practical strategies, participants will:

  • Unpack the stigma surrounding problem gambling within Latinx communities and learn how to address it in supportive, culturally sensitive ways.
  • Deepen their understanding of Latinx culture, values, and perspectives—and how these intersect with gambling behaviors and treatment engagement.
  • Discover actionable, culturally responsive interventions that can be used to build trust, foster engagement, and improve treatment outcomes.

Whether you’re a counselor, social worker, or healthcare professional, this session will equip you with the tools and awareness to better serve Latinx clients and their families impacted by problem gambling.
