Please join us on February 25, 2026 from 11am-12pm CT with Dr. Kasra Ghaharian for Large Language Models 101: Applications, Risks, and Implications for Problem Gambling!
Artificial Intelligence is no longer a future concept; it is actively reshaping the landscape of gambling support and information-seeking behavior. This session moves beyond the headlines to provide a comprehensive look at Large Language Models (LLMs) and their role in the problem gambling field.
We will begin by demystifying the technology with a "Generative AI Primer," explaining the mechanics behind tools like ChatGPT. Drawing on our latest research, Dr. Ghaharian will share findings on how AI currently engages with help-seeking queries and how treatment professionals perceive the integration of these tools. The core of the session will address the critical intersection of ethics and digital innovation, identifying the "guardrails" necessary for safe implementation.
Learning Outcomes:
- Define the fundamental architecture of Generative AI and its distinction from traditional digital support tools.
- Recall current research on AI-driven responses to problem gambling queries to identify potential risks.
- Explore ethical deployment of AI within prevention and treatment services.
