ON-DEMAND - Black Women Speak out About Gambling, Addiction, Recovery

The expansion of casino gambling across the US is having a devastating impact on vulnerable communities, particularly the Black community. However, as the recently published Illinois state wide study on problem gambling reveals, research on the Black community, which the study showed is disproportionately represented among the over 300,000 residents who reportedly are experiencing problem gambling, is sparse. Even more hidden from studies on problem gambling are the voices and experiences of Black women, which is the topic of this presentation.
