Please join us on March 3, 2026 for a virtual training with Christina Cook and Adam Lyons from 12-1pm CT! 

Through their personal recovery journeys, Christina Cook and Adam Lyons will share their own unfiltered stories. They will will also discuss how to utilize the Evive app as a practical tool for support, reflection, and connection, offering insight into how digital resources can reduce stigma and strengthen prevention and recovery efforts.

Attendees will gain practical takeaways on how to support individuals impacted by problem gambling, including supportive approaches and ways to connect people to appropriate resources.

Objectives:

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

  • Describe how problem gambling can develop and show up in real life through personal lived experience stories, including common turning points, barriers to seeking help, and what “support” actually feels like from the inside.
  •  Identify practical, stigma-reducing ways to support someone impacted by problem gambling (directly or as an affected other), including language to use, language to avoid, and how to connect people to appropriate resources.
  • Apply key takeaways from our story to strengthen prevention, referral pathways, and recovery support in their own role (clinical, peer, workplace, community, or personal).

Christina Cook, IGRS, is the founder of The Broke Girl Society, a peer-led community and podcast that creates safe, empowering spaces for women impacted by gambling harm. An international speaker and dedicated recovery advocate, she draws on her lived experience with disordered gambling to support others through the emotional, financial, and social realities of rebuilding a life in recovery. Christina also serves as the Business Manager for Evive, supporting individuals and families impacted by gambling harm, and as Executive Secretary of the International Problem Gambling and Gaming Certification Board.

Adam Lyons

Adam Lyons, IGRS, is a compulsive gambler in recovery and the host of The Modern Meeting podcast. After nearly two decades of addiction impacting every part of his life, he sought help through Gamblers Anonymous on February 8, 2022, a turning point that changed everything. He created The Modern Meeting to bring honest recovery conversations beyond the walls of meetings, reduce stigma, and remind people they are not alone. Adam is also the Customer Success Manager at Evive and co-host of Evive Live with Christina Cook.
